Doris Mooneyham Bell
Doris
Mooneyham was born on January 22, 1942 in
Eatonton, GA. After graduating high school, she went to work for the
Federal Aviation Administration. Doris met her husband, Ross, who also
worked for the Federal Aviation Administration. After their marriage 41
years ago, Doris and Ross lived in Montgomery, Alabama, and later built
a home just outside of Montgomery in Elmore County (Wetumpka). Doris
attended Auburn University at Montgomery and then the Montgomery School
of Fine Art at Huntingdon College. She has studied art with artists from
all over the United States and taught art in school for five years
before owning and operating an art gallery/studio in Wetumpka for 25
years where she taught art as well. She sold her business in 2004 and
has since enjoyed retirement. Doris enjoys traveling, photography,
painting and time spent with her family and friends. Doris and Ross have
two sons, two wonderful daughters-in-law, and four grandchildren. The
oldest son, Chris, lives nearby in Millbrook, AL. and is project manager
for a manufacturing company; their youngest son, David, lives in Atlanta
and is a minister at Northside Drive Baptist Church and is also teaching
and working on his dissertation at Emory for his PhD. .
