Jim Laney was born on October 25, 1942 in Miami,
FL. (Dade Co). His
family moved to Warner Robins in 1958, about 6 -7 weeks into his junior
year. They moved away the day after the WRHS 1960 graduation. Jim
attended Auburn University, graduating in 1964 with a BA in Eng/Journalism. He
received his MA in International Relations in 1974 from the University
Of Arkansas. The included photo was taken on a road trip through western
Canada and Alaska in the fall of 2005. Jim
married Sandra Erwin on August 22, 1964. Jim made a career with the Air
Force spending 20 years and then followed that with another 20 years
with Lockheed Martin in their 'space launch vehicle' business
development program and Dept of Defense customer relations.Sandra was born on September 23, 1943 in Nacogdoches, TX. Sandy attended Bellevue College in Nebraska and received her BA in Geography in 1980 and then received her MA in Geography from University of Nebraska in 1982. She worked with the Army Corp of Engineers until 1994. Jim is now retired and they live in Lone Tree, Colorado. Jim still spends about half his time in a 'consulting' mode. They have two daughters and two grandsons. |
