Marjorie Beene
Marjorie Beene was
born January 3, 1942 in Moulton, Alabama and moved to Warner Robins in
1950. After graduating from high school in 1960, she attended Mercer
University for a year before getting married. She moved with her husband
and ended up getting her B.S. from the University of New Mexico in 1972.
She received her Masters in Communications/Creativity in 2000 from
Antioch University in Seattle, WA before finally achieving her PhD in
Women's Studies at Union University in Cincinatti, Ohio. Marjorie has
lived on the Island of Maui, Hawaii for the last 20 years. Over a number
of years her interests graduated to and centered around art, music and
women's spirituality, leading women on annual vision quests to the
deserts of the Southwest and to other sacred sites worldwide. Her son,
David, is a computer consultant in San Francisco. Her daughter, Suzanne,
is a marine biologist working with endangered species on Midway Island
in the Pacific.
Currently, Marjorie Beene St. Clair teaches at a local community college on Maui and is writing a book on
the sacred feminine.
