Shirley Hadden

From the Sandspur Ranch just south of Statesboro, Ga, comes Shirley Hadden Newman. Shirley and Bobby Joe have been married just a short time and have 5 grown kidlets between them and adoption. They now have 10 grandchildren running
around and wreaking havoc on the sandspurs.  For fun Shirley and other members of the family perform as the "Humdingers from the Sandspur Ranch" doing comedy, singing and playing mandolin and guitar.
"Pickin', Sangin' and Pokin Fun". Sounds like fun to me. Shirley is also an interpreter for the deaf at their Baptist church in Nevils, Ga. (A soloist for years, now she literally "sings with her hands" by interpreting music during the services.) The couple are also part of the drama team there. Just a couple of "Hams". To the left are pictured Shirley's son, Ken, Shirley, her daughter, Dee, and granddaughter, Ashley. Along with her family and friends, Shirley's favorite things are animals, gardening, art, crafts, "Pickin' Parties" (Bl/grass & Gospel music gatherings) and photography (And, of course, posing while sitting on the back fender of automobiles and glider airplanes!) Below are pictured Shirley's granddaughters, Kaitlyn Stewart and Kasey Stewart. About 10 years or so ago, Shirley 'adopted' a young couple and their daughter. Cailey was all of 4 years old at the time and has since called our girl, Shirley, "Grammy." The included photos show Cailey and Shirley in a posing moment and  I don't think either of them could take a bad picture even if they tried! The last group photo is Bobby Jo's family and our girl Shirley on the staircase. Is there any question as to who is posing so prettily on the rear fender of the 57 Chevy?
